Folk is an insight and idea driven strategic design consultancy based in Annandale, Sydney. We specialise in brand identity and product and service design, including expression and experience across physical and digital assets. We work with mission-driven organisations, across public, private and social sectors, to create surprisingly simple solutions to complex problems.
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for a Senior Brand/Digital Designer for a 6-12 month contract to cover parental leave in studio. This role will help conceive and create striking and meaningful brand expression and digital experiences. In this role you’ll enjoy working with a positive, supportive team, in a great space, on a broad range of clients and projects. From discovery to concept exploration and execution.
What you’ll do at Folk:
Make key contributions within supportive project teams:
- Explore, develop and deliver creative expression and application on brand and digital projects to ensure best in class outputs and ideas that have (the desired) impact.
- Fuel strategically creative conversations with colleagues, clients and stakeholders to deliver end-to-end brand identity projects. From brand principles and messages: visual identity concepts and touchpoint application, creation of brand guidelines and design implementation across digital and physical assets
- Create visual concept exploration and implementation phases within large scale digital projects. Including website redesigns and future state experiences while understanding the limitations of tech and existing design systems
What you’ll bring to Folk:
- 7+ years creative agency experience in brand identity, creation and implementation, on and offline
- a proven track record in considered and courageous creative expression (for ambitious organisations large and small)
- a demonstrated understanding of effective and creative UI design, design systems and user experience (and the best practices around it)
- an ability to create, share and realise ideas
- a curious mind, positive voice and collaborative spirit
- excellent communication and presentation skills
- a solid understanding and respect for research, strategy and the power of the written word
- a solid understanding and appreciation of the end-to-end product design process including knowledge of the parameters and a desire to push these
- an innate and active interest in creativity, design, identity, and emerging tech and trends
- a commitment to creative excellence, insights and ideas
- keen attention to detail, and the big picture
- a demonstrated understanding how design systems are created, applied, maintained and grow across different mediums – fit for the now and the future
- experience of ensuring creative design solutions align with business goals and technical constraints.
- an awareness and ability to think multi-dimensionally – to consider interactions, transitions and motion
- energy, enthusiasm and ability to work within integrated teams
- a constructive, creative mindset when contributing as part of a broader team
- experience of working with project teams to prioritise tasks to remain within the allocated time
- comprehensive knowledge of relevant design tools and resources (eg, Adobe CS, Figma, Miro)
- a nice-to-have would be knowledge and experience in motion
